Wimpassing

Wenn Worte wandern könnten:
Was würd ich wagen?
Würd ich Ihnen Wasserflaschen packen
Wie auf Wandertagen?
Würd ich Wimpel auf die Wampen picken?
Würd ich Waben schaben?
Würd ich wieder Wisents wiederkäuend...
Wahrscheinlich schlabenhaben!
Was würden sich Worte wundern
Wenn sie Wege wagen?
Wirklich die Retorte plundern?
Haben die auch Tage?
Wohin sich die Wölfe wenden
Wenn sie Wörter jagen?
Wohl westwärts Richtungen Wiener Wald
Wo sie Wappler schlagen.
Wer? Wie? Wann? Wo?
Wozu mit Wörtern traben?
Weiss sowieso keiner wieso!

Weiber. Wetzen. Wahnsinn!

For my Moon

There once was a Wolf

Who sang through the night

He slept through the day

Because the Sun was too bright

The Wolf loved the night

For it was quiet and dark

But as a creature of light

He was attracted to sparks

So the wolf sang his song

To the millions of Stars

To him they all looked the same

He could not tell them apart

They liked the Wolf's song,

Were sparkling and glistening

But they never answered

As if they weren't listening

The Wolf kept on howling

Until the church bell rang Four

As the Stars did not answer

He felt lonelier than before.

But just before dawn

A sliver passed by

It was bright like the Stars

Another child of the sky

At the next dusk

He again saw the figure

As more nights passed by

It grew bigger and bigger

Until once at midnight

It started to speak

For the song of the Wolf

Had it very intrigued:

„I am the Moon,

To the sky I belong

But you I find curious

Please continue your song“

The wolf just fell silent

He was struck in awe

Such a beautiful creature

Never he'd seen before.

He started to panick

Turned almost away

When he saw his reflection

Nearby in a lake.

Above him the Moon lay,

His fur covered in light

He was shining like Stars

Like the sun he was bright

For the first time the Moon

And himself were together

His howl rose so high

It was clearer than ever.

The Wolf sang his song

All through the dark

The Moon danced above him

That embraced the Wolf's heart.

But as morning came closer

The Moon started to fade

And when the Sun rose

It had gone away.

The Wolf quit his singing

He stopped in his tracks

He was worried and wondering

If the Moon ever came back.

At next nights emergence

He looked at the sky

And as the Moon rose

His heart was lifted as high

Together they danced

Through the Moon's light they shone

For the first time in his life

The Wolf was not alone.

The Wolf felt serenity,

His existence was true

And with all his heart

He sang:“Moon, I love you“.

The Moon looked unsettled

As if those words she feared

And when the Wolf looked up

She had disappeared.

The Wolf screamed at the sky

Begged not to be left

And at every dawn

Lamented his heart's theft

He could not stop singing

He could not retreat

For the love for the Moon

Came with every heartbeat

After 28 nights

Filled with howlings of pain

The Moon could not stay hidden

She rose again.

She said:“ Wolf, please stop crying

And don't make me run

I love you too, Wolf,

But I belong to the Sun“

„I love Him forever

Even when we were apart

You have my smile, Wolf,

But He has my heart“.

„So please stop your singing

and go back to sleep

I know that you love me

but with you I can't be“

The Wolf was ashaken

Could not comprehend

How could the Moon love him

and still leave in the end.

The Wolf kept on singing

But the Moon never returned

There was never an answer

Nothing he'd learned

The Moon's light in his heart

Kept shining so strong

Every night he tries fiercly

To bring Her back with his song.
